Viking Classic / PGA TOUR / September 18-21, 2008
Not sure if anyone caught it last night on TGC but several shots of Brian Gay shooting a 66 (-6) for second place. Including sticking his wedge to two feet on 18 and a nice interview after his round. He is 36 on the money list and mentioned how if he had just made the cut at the Barclay's he would be in the top 30.

All eyes are on the Ryder Cup this week, but lets not forget to wish Brian Gay good luck as he heads into the final round on Sunday at T2, and just two strokes behind the leader.

Check out his stats http://www.pgatour.com/leaderboards/current/r054/

Brian has had an outstanding week.

In the new FedExCup world, not all PGA TOUR events are created equal. Those held 'opposite' more important tournaments, e.g., the British Open or the limited field World Golf Championships events, receive only one-half the normal allotment of FedExCup points (25,000). And, after the fact, the season-ending seven events of the Fall Series receive a zero FedExCup award.

What does all this have to do with The Masters and the trip down Magnolia Lane? Simply this: In order to qualify for a Masters invitation, the event won must carry full points.

So, today's Viking Classic champion will have to settle for an official win and a first-place prize money of $648,000. Now, that's plenty of green, but unfortunately . . .

Not Masters green.

Go Brian!

Congratulations Brian
What a great performance this week!

You've moved up to 28th on the PGA TOUR money list for 2008 and you're $316,800 richer this week.

Way to go.

Great stuff Brian!

Sadly beaten in the playoff but helluva job getting into it!

Yoda, do you have any insight to offer us as where the 2010 Ryder Cup will feature in Brian's goals?

This year has been brilliant for him and he should end up playing in all 4 majors next year. It is in those events that he can pick up the $ and world ranking points to gain automatic selection for Wales.

Yoda at the Ryder cup?!
