Curious how many of you cock your wrist when chipping? I do and I see many guys on tour do so, esp for longer chips. Europeans do it a lot.
Chip Shots are the realm of the Arm Accumulators, i.e., Right Arm Drive (LinearMuscle Power / #1) or Left Arm Swing (AngularRadius Power / #4, usually with Pivot Transport). See 12-5-1.
Pitch Shots additionally involve the Hand Action Accumulators, i.e., Left Hand Turn and Roll (rotational Transfer Power / #3) and Left Wrist Cock and Uncock (perpendicular Velocity Power / #2). See 12-5-2.
Hitting or Swinging, longer Short Shots -- -- usually involve both Pivot Transport (of the Arms to Release) and Hand Action Transport (of the Club to Impact).

Yoda, thank you for coming in ,today I laid a club across my ball retreiver ,it stands about 2 ft high, this was placed on the edge of a sandscrape 6ft from hole,I stood about 15ft from and chipped using cut-shot using acc#4 and acc#2.
I hit 70 c/shots 3 never made it over but in general they were near hole or a couple ft past
This could only by me using wrist cock, the biggest surprise was me aiming the c/face "AT THE HOLE" ,just how accurate it was,I always had to open blade up to get the ball to react that way,but to me, that open face reeked of me guessing where it would go so to speak, now Im getting a lot more confident.
My chipping had always let me down, and I blame my own lack of confidence ,hopefully I will improve. Tomorrow Ill concentrate on lob shot
there is ways to just zero out the no.3 accumulators.. easiest way to do it . I think Runyan does it this way. TT does itthis way..
Also,
there is another way,, very Narrow backwing which require early cock of the left wrist but a very wide downswing and later uncock of the left wrist, this will have a more ball turf impact and thus lower flight like what Stan Utley taught . so I would think its trajectory.
add a little open or shut face, get a different ball reaction.

Thanks nuke, today I tried the lob shot, not a good day.VJ said that there is really 1 main difference twixt lob and cut shot and that is ball position.
I tried everything ,but just not confident on the shot (blades),I might give the lob up and concentrate on swingers chip and cut shot.
The amount of times I,ll use it does,nt justify all the practice, you mentioned in previous post there are other ways to zero out accs, can you advise me,keeping in mind that my aim is to build a solid short game around the greens
Thanks for input
I almost gave up on learning the lob shot, but not being a quitter I kept going .Somewhere here on LBG I read that there had to be a out to out motion for the lob,I really dont know where I read it,but it works a treat.
My main concern at the time was that by doing this,I thought I would be bending the plane and that is a no-no,the only thing is that made the manipulation of the hands during the reverse roll somehow brings it back into line.Does anybody have any thoughts here on this.
