C'mon Already
Dang! What is up with that hg? I may be dense or something but I did not detect any kind of malice towards you, only a difference of opinion. There is still much to learn, especially from archived material and anything else that Yoda and co. care to provide us. So I say...STAY! Where else will you go for the truth in teaching? Ultimately, the forum is about Homer Kelley's work, not petty squabbles that can in most cases be chalked up to mere misunderstanding. C'mon hg!

. . .
That is exactly what Brian told me on May 18th after the close of the AT&T Classic at TPC Sugarloaf. He was not exempt for the U.S. Open and had made the decision to forego the qualifiying attempt. In a free country and as an entrepreneurial PGA TOUR member, that decision was his privilege. And by the way, it had nothing to do with 'spending more time with the family'. It had everything to do with what he felt was best for his career.

No "guessing" about it, hjack. As all friends of LBG know, I have had the privilege of being Brian's swing coach for some time now. Specifically, since February 8, 2006. Further, that journey has been documented on this site every step of the way. Since that time, he has made 54 cuts on the PGA TOUR and more than $3,000,000 in Official Money. He is currently 10th in Scoring Average. And now you have the audacity to suggest that I am condemning him as a failure and that I am guilty of "not believing in your own guy"?

Please.

Here is my post reprinted:

No mention of failure.

No hint of disbelief or lack of confidence.

Just the facts.

You have been making your own waves for some time now, hjack. And I, for one, am growing a bit weary of having to surf them.

Maybe I am reading wrong, but throughout this thread HJackboldcaps has been supportive of BG, has he not?

The argument is really about the 4 tourneys that matter the most on Tour and whether or not you play in them come hell or high water.

IMO, you should. Just like Funk should have played the Open after he won the PLAYERS a couple years ago, just like Perry should play the US Open this year and Opens in past years.

I have never been a fan of players like Hoch, Lietzke etc. They act as if they hate golf and I really don't understand that.

I am glad Brian decided to try and qualify. IMO that is professional responsibility.

Stirring the Pot

Yes, but in his own roundabout way.

My dad taught me some 50 years ago that some people are just born "stir-ers". They enjoy meddling and conflict and being in the middle of a mess.

IMO, hjack is a stir-er. Not just here, but elsewhere as well. In fact, he makes 'stirring' an artform. And that's a compliment!

Unfortunately, my staff and I have had to spend many hours -- most of it behind the scenes to mend fences and avoid legal damages -- cleaning up after him.

We're done.

Didn't know that.

Good luck to all participants in this years US Open. And to the rest of us who will be playing in "US Open tournaments" at clubs across the country.

I hope I draw a good partner this year. I drew Fasth last year and we did pretty good.

Can you clarify this?

Is it a fun game you play - sounds it!

I imagine you draw a player from a hat and add your scores together. Could be fun!

Great idea. I'd like to know more, too. But let's put it in a new thread in The Lounge.

Thanks!
