Received the Tomasello video series today....Thanks. The DVD set looks very professional. Played part of the first video. Here is an excerpt from Tommy right from the beginning of the video....

My dvds arrived on Thursday, and I'm in the middle of the 3rd one now (24 hours of Tomasello.....could there be anything better???) DG is right, these DVDs are high quality. By the 3rd DVD Tommy is in full teaching mode, taking us through the book, and even having the students read sections out loud, with Tommy then clarifying what Homer is saying.
DG will really appreciate the vintage Tommy in the 3rd DVD. He comments that Hogan was wrong when he said he wishes he had "3 hands". He says what Hogan meant to say was "3 forearms". He goes on to reiterate that all the golf swing realy is, "is a pivot and what you do with the right forearm." Interpretation......Learn the magic of the right forearm by keeping it on plane with a sound pivot, and life will be good.

Your RIGHT this is high quality material.....AWESOME.....the "Whip Cracking" video is on DVD #6.....the other video that I have been interested in seeing is Tommy's how to practice on the range. I believe it's in one of the later DVDs in the set. Oooohhhhh, the "Whip Cracking" section of the DVD series should clear ANY mis-conception regarding the Magic of Right Forearm and swinging...Tommy is throwing the right forearm from the top and says this is still a 2,3,4 accumulator stroke....a pure centrifugal force swing. Major revelation for any doubters of Tommy's Magic of the Right Forearm instruction.
Anybody who didn't get this set of DVDs. BIG MISTAKE.

Yes, thanks to Lynn (and company), Lee Deitrick, Frank Moore....some of the other key people who have helped to keep Tommy's instruction alive and well.
The next step is finding video material of Tommy's Hitting School and Advanced School. Tommy had an awesome instructional model for presenting TGM (group instruction....and presenting TGM from a game approach (utilizing both swinging and hitting) rather than just a stroke approach. As Tommy said to me on the driving range...."To get this game in your hip pocket, you really need to learn both swinging and hitting". The comments from this DVD set should set the record straight on Tommy's approach to presenting TGM (and how fluid he was with the material). I believe at it's optimal.

I am so disgusted by people using the Hogan 3 right hands comment to pedal whatever swing philosophy they use. Bad enough to use quotes by famous people to justify yourself, why do people need to interpret the quote to fit in with their model? Saying that Hogan MEANT to say something other than he did is borderline reprehensible. Yeah, Hogan was a moron, never could figure out what he wanted to say. I've heard the 3 right hands quote used about 20 different ways by now.
By the way, Hogan once said he wished he had 5 right big toes, discuss!

The reason you can't sustain the lag is because you are so eager to make the club move fast (a reaction to the intent of "hitting it far"). So on a full shot you throw it away too early, which doesn't happen for your short chip. (bts)

Can you direct us where it's stated that Hogan wished he had 5 right big toes? I liked to read about things like this in context!!!

I really don't think that Tom Tomasello thought Ben Hogan was a moron. In fact, when I studied with him, Tommy made several positive references to Mr. Hogan.
I believe the "Whipcracking" demonstration from DVD #6 will change a lot minds on how to swing a golf club.....reference "Whipcracking" in Chapter 9 section 2 (9-2) of the 6th and 7th editions.
"The choice must be made here between "Mop Swinging" (Drive Loading), "Towel Snapping" (Downstroke Loading) and "Whipcracking" (Drag Loading). See 7-19. Zone #2 Components are Power Components. Good Golf is Power Golf.
What two books were on Tom Tomasello's desk when I studied with him. The 1st edition of the Golfing Machine and Ben Hogan's "Power Golf". From this new set DVD's, Tommy says Homer used Ben Hogan's golf swing as his model....to clarify it better, Tommy said Homer used the pictures from the book and not words. My guess is Homer did the same with the 5 Fundamentals.
I believe in no way was Tomasello busting Ben Hogan's chops with the reference to 3 forearms instead of wishing he had 3 right hands. Just clarifying the truth.

It was very clear from the context in which Tommy made the statement that he was NOT busting Hogan's chops. In fact, he made a point a short time earlier that golfers often have a difficult time putting their feels into words, leading to the his conclusion that Hogan must have meant forearm when he said hands.
