It remains a mystery to me why in a system based on the physics of rotation and torque is required to initiate circular motion why the word torque doesn't appear in TGM. Perhaps your friend would like to offer an explanation."

Torque is a measurement of the Thrust produced by the Pivot. We say "Pivot Thrust" which includes any thrust from the least to the most thrust.
