In thinking about a better way to demonstrate the concept of the 'line of force', I came up with a demonstration you can do in a shallow pool. Sit or stand in water that is level with the underside of your arms (arms held straight out in front of you). The waterline represents the 'plane of force'. Take your golf grip such that your hands are half in/out of the water - the water line at pressure point #1 (where your right hand meets the base of the left thumb). In a swingers motion, your right hand goes 'under the water' with the first move back (startup swivel) and rolls through to 'above the water' on the forward swing. In a hitters motion, the hands basically maintain their relationship to the waterline. Practice the two EdZ Drills in the water in this fashion, and you can get a good sense of alignments, rotation, as well as a great feel for loading/unloading of lag pressure and 'smoooooth' heavy swings. No splashes, just waves. __________________ "Support the On Plane Swinging Force in Balance" "we have no friends, we have no enemies, we have only teachers" Simplicity buffs, see 5-0, 1-L, 2-0 A and B 10-2-B, 4-D, 6B-1D, 6-B-3-0-1, 6-C-1, 6-E-2 EdZ View Public Profile Send a private message to EdZ Find all posts by EdZ
