The man who put forth the Thrower could perhaps take someone all the way to the PGA tour under his tutelage and definition of things. He is not wrong necessarily .....its just an apples vs oranges type thing.

So to answer your question from a TGM perspective..........Homer identified a lot of throwing motions but all of them are within the confines of the two basic patterns, Swinging and Hitting. See "Pitch Elbow", "The Right ARm Throw" , Active vs Passive Right Arm extension, Right Arm Swinging , The Bat Basic Stroke etc etc. In fact the only time you're right arm is not making a throwing type motion is when its not Fanning as in "Fanning and Bending" Push Basic for instance. Then its more of an inline punching motion.

Even passive right arm extension, Swinging, when coupled with Extensor Action can feel very right sided. Homer's book is very right sided in nature. Most of us are right handed so it makes sense.

There are many "throwing" like motions, options in TGM. So, throw if you want to. I do.

By the way , despite what a lot of people may think, Hitting, Total Motion is not an inline jabbing, like motion. It can be in Basic Motion or Acquired even if you so choose but not for a full shot. In other words both Swinging and HItting in Total Motion have throwing like right arm motions. Fanning and bending. Swinging can get to a Pitch Right Elbow position but they are both like a side armed throw at the Aiming Point. Hitting being an Active right arm extension, while swinging is Passive.
Thx for your input. Interesting.
