That's one heck of trip. Please post a story about Ben Doyle etc.

I love "Shrek's" (his nickname for some reason) swing. I dont want to pick it apart, no need to, but I can imagine what Lynn would work on with him.........the Arm Set or Flying Wedge Alignments at Address for instance. He's doing just fine though, isnt he. This guy could win some more tournaments I think. Part of the new breed.

I'd give all my teeth for that motion. What I love in particular is his steady rate of acceleration. Slow build up , heavy through impact with no slow down in the rate...........its a bit of a misunderstood thing to my mind. So called "easy power". The ball struck by a clubhead going 110 mph but on its way to a peak of 120 will be more powerful than a clubhead going 110 but on its way to 112 for instance. They're both accelerating at impact but one has a higher rate of acceleration. To pull this off (most) guys have to build it up gradually, slowly, to get that "heavy" at impact. Lag pressure is "heavy" in the Hands which is how we best monitor it, the Thrust, the phenomena of easy power. If you Direct it at the same time you have both the Geometry and the Physics covered. Lag pressure is said to be both "Direction and Thrust".

Homer said that over acceleration was "the menace that stalked all Lag and Drag". To me, over acceleration means the establishment of a rate of acceleration that you cant maintain , one that gives way to a lower rate of acceleration or worse still, deceleration. Ernie kills it for instance but looks like he's not burning too many b.t.u.'s in the process. Its a rate thing, I believe.

I love Ooster's balance too, the Three Stations, Address Impact and Finish. Nice.

I believe Lynn has met his coach Pete Cowan on several occasions. If memory serves one of his associates has even made the trek to Marietta.
