Imagine a tailor fitting you for a jacket and measuring your arm. That is the line a swinger will feel pull on at start down. The left hand karate chop.

The hitter will feel the right arm, the triceps.

The core difference is rotation, the loading for swinger's being 90 degrees different than the loading for hitter's.
