In a standard hitting procedure how long should the backswing be? I feel as if mine is very short (arms maybe at 10 o clock) but any longer and I lose control

Is there an optimum to maximise float loading? What length do other hitters have?

I would not make it longer than the top.

“Top is the hands at shoulder height and on plane”

It is ok to be short of top as well.
