Accountability Sucks!
A ditch is a grave with both ends kicked out! B -A-L-A-N-C-E!

Golf must be in its place lest it become the MASTER! This from an avowed addict, of course! Many good amateurs who take the plunge automatically think their game will go to the next level once they can devote ALL of their waking time to practice and play.

20 golf balls hit into my impact bag in the living room achieves more than 500 golf balls on the range (in the old days.) I put the ball a couple inches from the imapct bag and take a full cut at it. Impact bag is low point...must kill it!

Pertaining to goals...there must be DAILY feedback. Activity without feedback is going through the motions. I grade myself each and every day! I need it more than most...without the glare of accountability I am a danger to myself! Goals programs fail primarily because people do not like accountability. Food for thought: if you cannot keep a committment to yourself will you keep one you made to someone else?...and if you fail to conform reality to your words ...are you a liar?

I remember (I think it was Gary Player) making a comment about Jack Nicklaus not practicing enough...something to that effect. I also recall Jack saying that he would stop practicing and go play once he "had it". The ball beating was not his thing, he was out there to fix something...once fixed he was "out." I like pounding seeds as much as the next person, but I make the distinction between recreational hitting (rakin' balls) and practice. Practice has an objective with a deadline! I have hit a thousand balls in one day (that was the idea!) unlimited range balls and adolescent time!

Next time you go out hit only the good range balls...like food on your plate leave the rest...if you cannot do it you are an obese range raker!
