As an experiment, I ran some thinner grips for about 3 months. I was able to sense PP#2 better, but didn't feel like I had as much roll control with the left wrist. It was a good experience simply to be able to "get to know" pressure point #2 but wasn't worth the lack of clubface control. Now that I'm back to my standard grips, I haven't lost the feel for #2. Once you get it, it doesn't go away. Its early enough in the season that you can experiment a bit.
