We didn't even talk about the pivot, at first. We talked about the delivery line and what the hands needed to do. He had no concept of low point. In the second part of lesson #2, we talked about the body's supporting role and the need for the shoulder to move down plane. There are plenty of (much needed) changes to go. But, his compression changed so dramatically that I wanted him to bask in the audible glory. I was very reluctant add anything else. One thing I learned very early in my teaching: let the student enjoy the sense of accomplishment when a change has been achieved, as more information may make them stumble. __________________ Yoda knows...and he taught me!
