Rust is common over the clubhead surface if you leave them wet after cleaning them, or if rain gets inside the bag. In the caddy house they commonly try to take it off with sandpaper or a simimlar procedure. They did so with my Ben Hogan Sand Wedge, after leaving the clubs kept for a long time without use or taking them outside to the field. Here the air has about 83% water.
