I've found that setting up the grip by putting the right hand on first, in it's impact fix position with right forearm on-plane, bend wrist, pp#1 and #3 in line and on-plane, makes fitting in the left thumb real easy. Just put it right under pp#1 (under the lifeline of the right hand). Works for me. I'm hitting these days, so I never go to adjusted address, just takes it back from impact fix.
