Clarification on mechanices for hitters and swingers
I have been struggling with my transition for quite some time now.

The idea of sliding the hips and then turning the hips just doesn't gel for me for some reason.

However, after a bit of research it seems that up until the transition to start down the mechanics of hitting and swingers are or at least can be identical.

RFT to the top, slide the hips down the delivery line, THEN turn the hips OR drive the right arm.

Is this correct?

I ask this because on the course yesterday trying to slide and then turn the hips got me incredibly frustrated and so i started to slide and drive and had some pretty good results.

Yes, aside from a possible difference in Hand Action both Swingers and Hitters can employ a RFT. An "Active" fanning and bending of the Right Arm going back, if you will.

A Three Accumulator Hitter using Drive Loading does not rely on the Pivot in the same way a Swinger does. He doesnt swing from the feet per 6-M-1. His right shoulder stays back some what and he thrusts his Right Arm against it, although the Right ARm motion for full shots is really more of side arm throw than a shot put, or boxers jab motion. There is fanning and bending, its not just inline.

Four Barrel Hitting brings the Pivot back into the mix but with some alignment conflicts that can cause inconsistencies. For this reason Homer wasnt a huge proponent of it for the average golfer.

Many hitters slide/-bumb the hips out to the right field......not towards the target...

Anyway, you want to go back with the right shoulder on a horizontal plane, then in the downswing you want to move the right shoulder down towards the ball on the turned shoulder plane. You want to do that without bobbing or swaying your head. Try to do some pivots with the focus on your right shoulder movement, then check out what the hips does.....

Just a thought

This is where I am getting lost I do believe.

My shoulders tend to move more up and down rather than around in the back swing.

My left shoulder will wind up under my chin and my right shoulder will wind up a bit up and over the turned shoulder plane. This makes it difficult for me to get the shoulder going back down the plane (I believe it should be under the plane correct).

So basically I need to work on getting a flatter shoulder turn?
