HONOLULU, Hawaii / Sunday, January 3 >> Mrs. Yoda and I are preparing to leave Honolulu -- 80 degrees here! -- for our mid-afternoon, inter-island flight to Kapalua, Maui, and the SBS. It's 80 degrees there, too.
Meanwhile, check this morning's view from our balcony overlooking Waikiki Beach at the Outrigger Reef Resort. I hate it when this happens!
Thanks, Kevin. That view, for the time being, is history, but we'll be back on the 11th for the Sony and my 'work' -- -- with BG and also, the Aloha Section of the PGA of America.
We're now down safe and sound in Kapalua and all checked in at the Ritz Carlton. http://www.ritzcarlton.com/en/Proper...ui/Default.htm There's a larger airport about fifty minutes away, but we flew directly into Kapalua, one of the smallest I've seen. How small is it? [Drum roll . . . ] It's so small that the bag guy took the bags from the plane and put them directly on the baggage claim belt (first photo). The belt never moved, of course, and we passengers -- all thirteen of us -- just picked up our bags and walked away.
The second photo is off our new balcony located on the resort's Bay Course. The SBS is played across the way on the Plantation Course. I've called my friends at the Kapalua Golf Academy and will take the shuttle up there early tomorrow. They tell me there's a top teebox with a spectacular ocean view, and I'm looking forward to launching two or three hundred practice balls in that direction!
Meanwhile, BG and I have traded texts and phone calls. Based on his MO, we'll meet up at the Plantation Course in the afternoon. Work, work, work . . .

Seems like that's all I ever do!
Scratch the early morning Yoda practice session.
Connected with BG and family on the way to dinner. He's into the early East Coast wake-up and wants to tee it up near 8 AM.
We're off together to the near-by Planatation Course around 6:45AM.

Pool at 2!
What a way to spend a day!
Jerry and I were going to hit balls at the dome today and work some basic motion with our Taly's. We are canceling because it's 10 freaking degrees below zero, with a wind chill of 22 below! When it's this cold, they can't get enough heat into the domes to be comfortable. Maybe I'll drive to Hawaii.
Please tell Brian good luck from his friends following on LBG!
Kevin

The only thing wrong in that photo is the guy in the budgie smugglers on the walkway
It must be a real chore having to go to Hawaii to work Yoda!
