Swinger using impact fixed
I'm new to the TGM October 2009. After seeing Yoda on Utube I became a convert.

Please forgive me if I've asked this question in the wrong forum or if my language isn't precise. I'm a swinger and have recently experimenting with impact fixed address position (while swing) and have had great results. On the back stroke, my right wrist remains on plane and is properly bent.

Will this routine lead to problems that I'm unable to foresee with my lack of TGM experience?

I'm aware of "sweep" and have also been using that technique.

I appreciate any insights. Thanks in advance.

Welcome SW!

The beauty of TGM is you may do whatever works for you. I am a hitter rather than swinger, and I haven't been around TGM long enough to know if you will fall into any snares with your procedure, but in my opinion, if it is working, do it! Keep experimenting with different components, thats how we learn. Have some fun with the journey!

I hope you are taking advantage of all the videos in the GALLERY here at LBG. There is so much to learn in there. Make sure to watch the Colin Neeman series. When you want to go deeper, "Alignment Golf" is priceless, worth every penny!

I agree with Kevin. The great thing about The Golfing Machine is that you can build a swing with whatever variations you prefer. Please make sure that all of the component variations in your stroke pattern match.
A main difference in Standard and Impact address is the amount of Lag you are setting up at address. Standard Address creates more lag at start up and Impact address creates less. Experiment and find out which works best for you.

Id agree with all of the above and add that a lot of swingers start from Fix, if only for shorter shots.

I hit from Adjusted on longer shots, so to each their own.

For a lot swingers those really short ones dont give them enough time to start at adjusted with a bent left, flat right and get to a flat left, bent right impact hands condition on the backswing.

Although for short shots from adjusted, Extensor Action Takeaway with the E.A, at the #3pp instead of at the #1pp can help to snap the hands into their impact conditions. But Im probably complicating things here though and you dont see that as often for the short ones anymore.

Like the others guys are saying though for fuller shots the takeaway is all about what you prefer feel wise.............carry back from Fix or a little lagging from Adjusted. Id say a lot of swingers use Fix up to the mid irons even. Play around with it. Try your driver from Adjusted and get the feeling of Lag going early with a "Lagging Takeaway" and see how it goes for you. As if you were hitting an impact bag on your backswing. Bobby Jones, Ben Hogan style. Just let momentum do its thing and get the hands to their impact condition.

Swinger using fixed address
Kevin,
Thanks for your encouragement! TGM is wonderful and the members of the forum make the system even better, as they are willing to share their thoughts and insights.

I have seen the Colin video. I recently purchased Alignment Golf and can't watch it enough.

Thanks
