Hooking and swinging
I assume that I'm a swinger because I move the ball away from the target to fade and move the ball toward the target to draw. However, I may be wrong still.

I think my problem sometimes is getting my right forearm on plane from release to impact. I'm pretty sure that it is comming in too high because it does so while performing flying wedge drills. I can get my right forearm on plane while performing the drills by keeping my right shoulder down-back and on plane but when I use this procedure while hitting balls, I have an awesome and terrible hook. Starts right 10 yards and hooks left 50 and stays a bit low.

If I let my right forearm come in a little high, I'm fine and I can add as much #1 pressure as I want. I still have to move the ball away from target to fade using this procedure but sometimes way back. I like keeping my right shoulder down and back because it's such a simple procedure to repeat.

I must be missing something. I'm not looking at the problem correctly. Can someone give me a few Ideas where to start? I'd like to have my right forearm on plane but i don't want the hook.

You are 'hooding'.

And you are likely very flat and way too inside. The good news is that you likely have decent compression.

First, check your grip, not too strong, then work towards what will 'feel' to you as if you are trying to 'reverse roll'.

Try opening the face, and hitting "inside out cut shots"

"without rotation, it feels like an inside out cut shot" - Ben Doyle

Read the post on hinges, and imagine a verticle hinge (you won't get there, but that is a 'feel' you need). You need an angled hinge motion would be my guess.

Hooding...right arm above left before, during and after impact even though hands are leading. I bet you're right.

I'll try to change that tomorrow. I'll weaken the grip ever so slight and feel as though I chase the ball down the line with my left hand palm down....hmm, I think that may give me a higher hook.

That doesn't solve the inside path resulting from dropping my right shoulder on plane. I'll try a slightly steeper plane. I'll practice pitches till I run out of variations. Then look again if the problem isn't solved.

Thank you

You're not hitting the inside of the ball. Your immediate objective should be to hit the inside of the ball with your hands over the left foot at Impact.

Daryl,

I would make sure you are using a secquenced release, uncocking then roll. Look at 10-20-E, Wrist Throw.
