Barometeric pressure...or it could be the pollen count! First of all congratulations on your accomplishment. Recently I played a series of challenge matches with a world ranked amateur who just had a good run at the British Am. We played the toughest tracks in the area (excluding Southern Hills) We played more rounds in a week (7) than I had played the whole year to date. From the tips...high winds...extreme heat I shot 74...72...84 ...71...70..71...72. The 84 included some all star up and ins! I hit the ball like someone that had just played "dizzy-bat!" 84 is my highest score in...gosh...15 years! It could have easily been 90! It was and still is inexplicable. I was -2 for the other 6. My best ball striking round was the round following the 84. I purposely did not hit balls after the shocker. I told myself that I basically knew what I was doing and the chances of an encore were statistically unlikely! I feel that we can do more damage by trying to figure out what is really an exception. Enjoy your success and realize that no sort of perfection was needed to attain it! Well done OB! I am sure Yoda is thrilled!
