Captain Hook And The Mother Load

Great stuff Yoda!! The mysteries of the number 3 pressure point have eluded me ever since I heard of it.

So the point of contact is not the side of the finger at that joint? But underneath the finger in between the fleshy parts?

Also, how far down the shaft does one separate the index finger from the rest of the hands? As far as possible, or just a little bit? THe only way I can feel any lag pressure is if I have my findex finger extended down the shaft, but I don't see any touring pros do this.

Thanks again yoda.

If you were to pull the trigger of a rifle or handgun, the trigger would belocated on the middle portion of your Right Forefinger (the 'hook' of the'trigger' finger). Per my post above, this is the medial ('middle')phalanx.

Similarly, the precision Grip of 10-2-B finds the Clubshaft resting in this'hook.' That places the No. 3 Pressure Point -- first joint (the first of twoabove the knuckle) and also the fleshy pad immediately below it, i.e.,'palm' side --directly behind the Shaft.

So, the Clubshaft rests in the 'hook,' or Medial Phalanx and No. 3 PressurePoint is directly behind the Shaft (on the first joint and upper portion of theProximal ('nearest') Phalanx, or that portion of the finger 'nearest'the knuckle (the attachment to the Hand).

Regarding the extension of the Forefinger, remember the words of Bobby Jones:

"There is no virtue that cannot be exaggerated into a fault!"

Per the above, the Clubshaft will lie ideally across the middle portion of thefinger (the Medial Phalanx) and be secured between the 'hook' formed by theencircling Proximal and Terminal Phalanxes. If you extend the Forefinger toofar down, the Clubshaft will no longer rest on the Medial Phalanx and thesecurity of the enclosing 'hook' will be compromised.

In order to feel the Lag Pressure, you must keep the Forefinger sensitive toit. That means that you will grip it lighter than the others. Then, you must Monitorthe Loading Pressure your Start Down (8-7) Lag Loading Action (10-19-A/B/C)places on it. As you gain control over your Start Down and Lag Loadingprocedures, your sensitive Right Forefinger will learn to passively accepttheir Load.

Over time, as you continue to work on these correct ideas, your G.O.L.F. FeelSysem will learn to recognize this unmistakable Feel of first Loading the LagPressure on your sensitive No. 3 Pressure Point and then maintaining itthroughout the Downstroke, Release, Impact, into the Both Arms StraightPosition of the Follow-Through, and even into the Finish (Sections8-7/8/9/10/11/12). Unlike the Power Accumulators (6-B-1/2/3/4), the LoadedClubhead Lag is maintained throughout the Stroke.

It has no release point.
