I also very confused about the preturned hip, do you mean you have the right hip turned to the right before starting the swing? Then when you backswing you want to stop whenever you can't turn anymore due to fixing the hip? Or, when I start down I have the right hip rotated such that at impact my bum is facing back of the target, is this clear the hip for the downswing?

Right on both counts, Danny!
Clear the Right Hip during Start Up -- or better yet, before StartUp -- and then again -- a very positive Hip Turn (preceded by a slightSlide) -- to the left at Start Down. The Hands (and the Right Elbow)must have a clear Path -- Up, Back and In (to the Top) and Down, Out andForward (Through Impact) and Up, Back and In (from Follow-Through to theFinish). Otherwise, they will go around the Hip and disrupt the true On Planeorbit of the Clubhead.
