Into the last six minutes of the audio,Mr Kelley is instructing
you of the role of the hand. He has you doing an exercise in which your turning the left hand east to west. And tell's you
under no cirumstance does the hand roll in the backswing.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this indicate that there's no rotation of the forearm? Wouldn't this be contrary to the
video's I've seen regarding the role of the left hand?
One final question couldn't one position the hands in there
place by turning the body and lifting the hands thus educating
the hands to do nothing?
Your Hands should Turn in the Backstroke, not Roll.
With Single Wrist Action (which is compatible with a Hitting procedure), the Turning of the Club is from the motion of the Arms and Body, rather than the Wrists itself. This may be what you mean when you say "educating the hands to do nothing".

It has been some time since I listened to the audio. To make sure I understand the context of Homer's instruction, I'll have to do that first. When I've done this, I'll get back to you. Meanwhile, Tongzilla may already have provided the correct answer in his post #42 above.
No rotation of the forearm is what I'm asking about.
Rotational motion of your forearms is the same as rotational movements of your wrists. For example, if you Turn your Left Wrist, you also Turn your Left Forearm at the same time. However, the turning of the Clubface that is induced by the turning of your Arms and Body is different.
Lynn, you and Homer discussed indexing and you mentioned
through impact. I am not sure what indexing means. Could
you give a definition. Thanks, Donn
Hi Donn,
I don't recall the reference to "indexing through impact," and I can't imagine what it would be. As I said in my post above, it has been some time since I've listened to the audio. And I still owe Thrust an answer to his question above. I'll get to it!
