More foward ball position for 1, and 2 make sure you're not quitting and really driving that right arm!

I find when i "show" people the hitting stroke they all hit it low for a while because they're scared to really use that right arm. Even i was But once i was confident enough to REALLY hit the ball into the ground without any quitting or stopping, it was pretty amazing.

By definition, the angled hinge of the hitter is more of a deflected blow creating more height and spin.
