The Wyndham Championship / PGA TOUR / August 19-22, 2010
Drove up Monday afternoon to Greensboro, NC, to work Tuesday-Wednesday at The Wyndham Championship. It is an easy drive, and I could hardly wait to get there!
Long-time active students in the field include PGA TOUR exempt players Brian Gay and Jay Williamson. Then, on Tuesday, I began preliminary work with exempt player and new student Vance Veazey. Curt Sanders, Assistant Golf Professional at Eagle Point GC in Wilmington, NC, is in as Carolinas PGA Player of the Year. Curt earlier this year earned status as Lynn Blake Certified Senior Instructor. Curt was 'folding shirts' Monday but teed it up in a PGA TOUR event today and posted an even par 70. I could not be more proud. :salut: After "work" -- -- I had dinner Monday and Tuesday evening with Curt and Rick Murphy, Carolinas PGA Teacher of the Year and Lynn Blake Certified Senior Instructor. Rick monitored sessions I had with Curt and Brian, but was there primarily to work with his own student Andrew McLardy. Also got a chance to say hello to Rich Crews, aka 12 Piece Bucket, who was there with his good friend and teacher, Eddie Cox. Lots of exciting things are happening at Lynn Blake Golf, and PGA TOUR participation is certainly one of them. But hold onto your hats . . . More is coming soon! :golfcart2: |
Cool report!

Wyndham Championship - Rick Murphy
YODA was on his game at the Wyndham! Great to see him at work with Brian, Curt and Vance. I was learning the "ropes" from Yoda like where to eat onsite where the tour folk do. You want to know where to eat...follow the caddies! Each visit to a tour event I am once again reminded why the best players in the world are the best....!!! If you look at the top 125 first there is no doubt that you will see a wobble or two...then as you look at the top 50 there are less wobbles...as you move up you begin to see tighter and tigher swings....and vitually no wobbles.......They are truly talented individuals. Another week with Yoda coming up at the Barclay's this week. I am looking forward to it! In the trenches 24/7 searching for the "first wobble" for four day's! WOW!:happy3:
