Training aid question
Hi all,
Last week at the golf shop I picked up a training aid and gave it a few swings. Wanting to be sensitive to mentioning brands or products on this site, I'll describe it as a very flexible club of driver length, with a weight on the end that strongly resembled a citrus fruit. The thing really "whipped" around. My question is, has anyone tried this and had good results to report. Felt to me like I really felt the lower body lead the swing, as it is really almost impossible to swing it with your arms only. Is that what the transition in the golf swing is supposed to feel like? Any thoughts/feedback would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Brian,
I have not had the opportunity to try this yet. Did you have a chance to hit balls after you used it? |
Drew,
Thanks for your reply. Good to hear from you. To answer your question, no. I won't have a chance to swing a club until my trip mid feb. I'm curious to do so with that feeling. One comment I've heard is that since the ball is on the end of the stick that it may promote lagging the shaft as opposed to the sweetspot, but I feel relatively aware of the sweetspot lag as opposed to the shaft. (Thanks to all the good LBG and TGM advice I've had) But the feeling I got from swinging it was so dramatically different from what I think I do, especially in terms of lower body leading. |
