Brian Gay struggled today.

Even par after three, he hit a 125-yard wedge shot short of a front pin on #4, and it rolled back in the water. His next wedge was from about 40 yards: It was a downhill lie in the rough that hit the railroad ties fronting the green and found the same water. His next pitch failed to backtrack down a very steep slope towards the cup, leaving an extemely difficult putt that could possibly also go in the water. That didn't happen, but he missed his twister of a second putt, and he left the green with a nine and +5.

Nobody ever said it would be easy.

Divine Intervention, at least as far as I'm concerned. She may have a different take! Ne'er the less . . .

Next June 7th marks 42 years. A mighty lucky 'ol Yoda, indeed!

Any more light on why BG withdrew?

Was it illness and fatigue? ie was he sick and tired!!!

Just wondered what his reason was and whether he gets any grief from the tour for withdrawing

Fit n Trim

Yoda,

Brian isn't the only one seeing changes this year. You are looking rather svelte these days.

Congrats to you and Vickie for sticking with it. You've got to be feeling younger in many ways. My guess is you are 25lbs lighter than two years ago.

Cheers!

Brian finished a round most would never have begun. I am as proud of his opening TPC round of 80 as I was of his closing Hilton Head round of 64. Let's let it go at that and watch the Leaderboard in the weeks to come.

Fair enough Yoda,

Thought there may be an underlying reason, happy to let Brian retain the reason.

If you're proud of the 80, then I'm happy too.
