You know, it's always tough to remember 'others', especially when you find yourself suddenly answering specific questions with a microphone stuck in your face (usually after some climactic momemt). So, I'm appreciative of Brian Gay's mention in your linked PGA TOUR interview:
"Gay credits his improved play to a switch to swing instructor Lynn Blake of Atlanta. "He changed some of my (swing) angles, and it's made me a more consistent player," Gay said."
Gotta love it.

:salut:

Today, Sports Illustrated called. They're doing an upcoming feature on Brian and will be with him at Mayakoba.

Stay tuned.

:)

The greening of America

I am really looking forward to watching this coming golf season. Brian's swing is so simple, so beautiful and what a short game.

I see very good things for Brian and a little green guy standing on a practice tee surrounded by stately gentlemen wearing green jackets. Maybe this year may next, but it will happen.

Go get em guys.

The PGATOUR.com article was the first I've heard of the device. Brian and I have never talked about it, and I've never seen him use it. But, it doesn't surprise me. He is always looking to improve and loves 'swing gadgets'.

You will see him with various aids at home and on the practice tee. A year or so ago, I took him to the PGA Superstore in Atlanta, and much to the delight of the professional staff -- who knew exactly who he was -- he had a field day on the training aids aisle (and actually walked out with one, paying full retail at the register).

Come Thursday though, he's all business. Other than the Speed Stik, which he uses as a warmup tool before he leaves the parking lot, and a dowel for Stance alignment, I've never seen him use a training aid during a tournament.

When it comes to 'swing actions', Brian is more than a little possessive of his 'gamer'.

pelz does a similar product, just has a line out front rather than front and back.

I have one and it has its uses. It attaches to the face though so deadens the feel of the ball coming off the face.
