Brian Gay -- #1 / PGA TOUR Scoring Average
For the record . . .
Y-T-D statistics through Turning Stone Resort Championship, Oct 05, 2008: Brian Gay now leads the PGA TOUR -- that would be #1  -- aw, to heck with it, #1   :occasion: -- in Scoring Average (Actual). http://www.pgatour.com/r/stats/info/xm.html?108 Brian has teed it up 88 times and hit it 6,175 times. Do the math, and you have the lowest per round Scoring Average on TOUR (70.17). 'Nuff said, but . . . For those who seek an artificial adjustment based on fields for which he was not eligible -- Scoring Average (Adjusted) -- he ranks # 10. http://www.pgatour.com/r/stats/info/xm.html?120 Either way, not too shabby. Agreed? Congratulations, Brian! :salut: |
That is quite a feat considering Brian is not a long bomber. It just shows how tough it is to win on the PGA tour. Every week there are several players who catch fire for one reason or another.

Dreams Do Come True
It's almost too much, isn't it?
A journeyman PGA TOUR player gets the correct information from a dedicated professional and both work their butt off. He moves from #112 in Scoring Average to #1 in just 2 1/2 years. All of which was chronicled right here as it unfolded. This isn't Tin Cup or Bagger Vance or some other Hollywood 'feel-good' tale . . . This actually happened. And it happened right here. Check the photos shot two years ago in my workout room: Post #91 http://lynnblakegolf.com/forum/showt...t=2383&page=10 Post #102 http://www.lynnblakegolf.com/forum/s...su#po st35780 Cool. :golfcart2: |
Way to go, LBG!
These numbers do not lie! More than that BG has wet his winning whistle! Congratulations to Brian Gay and congratulations to you, Yoda.
May I be so bold as to ask what has clicked for Brian this year? I enjoy spotting his level right wrist at top, an alignment I work hard to emulate. |
