Should we use Tom Tomsello swing video?

Hi Yoda,

I really enjoyed Tomasello simple swing
mechanics in his free videos section here...

But I read in another post where you advocated
that the pivot starts the start down motion not
the arms down as Tom suggests......

Which is correct???

thanks,

Jim

Tommy taught section 10-20 as ways to start the downswing.....according to Tomasello the swinging stroke pattern could use any one of the triggers for the downswing....

10-20-B Right Arm Trigger....muscles of the right forearm
10-20-C Right Shoulder Trigger
10-20-D Muscles of both Forearms
10-20-E Wrist Throw - starting the club down per the left wrist.

From my instruction with Tommy....he only recommended 10-20-A with putting and/or chip shots.

I use Tommy's instruction exclusively and it works. You'll learn great things from both Tom Tomasello and Lynn Blake, both world class instructors.

It does work!...

Thanks DG...

I tried Tommy's swinging method and it
hits ball striaght and far....and fits in with what we learn here...
Hey if it works why not!

* What is the trigger for 10-20-A?

Hey Jim,

I thought you might be interested in what Tomasello said in his Chapter 9 video Hitting_Swinging.wmv:

I would listen closely to Tommy on those videos.....he says the left hip will respond to the action of the arms....especially the right forearm....Magic of the Right Forearm on the downswing. As Tommy told me personally, the right forearm is in complete control for both hitting and swinging.

At about 7 minutes 15 seconds into the Chapter 2 Arms.wmv video Tomasello explains exactly that. :)

In the Letter Series number 2 video, I believe you'll find more comments from Tommy regarding the body reacting to the arms.

Me too! Just what I needed to dial out my overactive lower body... He seems like such a nice fellow too...
