2-M-3 Muscles
"Only with the driver must you use both Pivot Thrust
and Power Package Thrust for lack of a longer club". What is ment by "for lack of a longer Club"? |
In Homer We Thrust
"For lack of a longer Club" refers to... if you have a six iron and need more power go to a five iron. No need to add one Thrust to the other (can be risky). You don't have that option with a driver. It already is the longest club in your bag (exception: long putter).

Context
Also, if you were to read dkerby's post and the "quote"- you could easily assume that when one uses a driver, that Homer Kelley was saying that one "must" use both pivot thrust and power package thrust. Certainly, while you may choose to do that if you'd like- there would be no "must". When you read the entire paragraph - you get a little better understanding of the context that he meant that in. And it also shows how a quote out of context can take on an entirely different meaning. Nothing against Dkerby's post or question- that's certainly a very legitimate question.

Thanks Dewritgolf and Mike O. I read the whole paragraph
but just could not get a handle on the out of text sentence. I will put your posts into my yellow book. Donn |
