Hitting up etc.
 

I was inside the ropes at the Scandinavian Masters yesterday and two guys were measuring a spanish player with a launch monitor and a 3-d analys program, and the told the player that he has to hit up more and decrease his drivers loft. I could´t believe what I heard, Isn´t this totally wrong?

I was watching play today and those guys should go and see Gibber (?, may have been Tony) Finau for advice.

He drove 386yds into the water, took a drop and then got up and down for par. This game is just too easy.:sleepy:

Those guys stroke the ball ever so gently:) and they don't do it by hitting up.

I would think you CAN actually hit up so long as your hands are still in front-..
so how would you do this?

It was Gipper (the little one). The water was over the green, if I'm not mistaken.

I think this could be accomplished if the ball is teed past low point?

There should be a law against hitting it such distances, at such a tender age especially, irrespective of where the water was. :eyes:

You're right. It's like Tiger said; once some of these young athletes start to chose golf over football, basketball, etc., you're going to see some crazy yardages on the golf course.
