Moving

One of the best putters of all time, maybe the best, moved all over the place when he putted. Another player, now on the Senior Tour, that I hear is a very good putter moves around a lot when he putts.

There initials are B.L. and B.G....who knows who these two are? Why were/are they good putters?

Bobby Locke

Bobby Locke had tremendous feel and green reading ability.

He seemed to have a sixth sense about just how firm to stroke a putt.

He appeared to hook his putts, which probably is more like an anti-cut stroke.

Most of all, he believed in his system and technique, and trusted it.

UPP (going back to Oakmont Saturday) :)

Bob Gilder (sorry Bob) 24th is one of the best?

Why, our very own BG, Brian Gay, ranks 14th on the big Show.

No Compromise

My point is that these guys apppear to not allow anything to compromise their FEEL and ABILITY TO GET THE PUTT ROLLING ON THEIR INTENDED LINE. They appear to just LET IT HAPPEN, and have no concern for what they might look like when putting. Alan Doyle may be another one of these... his technique is different, but he putts very well.

Now I suppose the ideal would be to have the nice technique, and be able to LET IT HAPPLEN also, but I think something can be learned from these latter mentioned putters.
