modern version of FG-17?

Has anyone made a modern version of this iron? I've got a set that is in fairly decent shape, but before I do much work to them I thought I'd see if anyone knows of a current iron that compares to them. Still debating if it is worth re-chrome/re-grooving/re-shafting them or just looking for a set in better condition.

Such a sweet compression feel from them, even with the older shafts.

Edz,

The Fg-17 is a wonderful head and since you like yours, I would recommend going the rechroming, regrooving route. Send them to The Iron Factory and make sure that you get the "tour" chroming (no loss of weight) and have them regrooved. While the shafts are out, have them marked (spined) for the best insertion orientation. You will have as good a set as money can buy!

I feel your pain!
As I remember I played Karsten 1 then a later version before discovering th FG-17. Played for years, wore them out then found another set in much better condition, played with for several more years.
Why, I can't remember, but I switched to Ping Zing (ugly) with Ti shafts. Was a great club but I then switched to a set of Eye 2+ w/ Ti shafts. Personally I thing the EYE 2 is the best club Karsten ever made, Eye 2 +, to me, is easier on the eye.
I played w/ aluminum shafts long before above, found them to be great shafts also and you could get mad, throw, bend and then bend back to proper lie and loft however shafts sometimes looked a little snakey.
If you could borrow a Ping Eye 2 or 2+, try, you might like.
