Thank You
I don't know how to put into words the thanks I have for Lynn, Ted, and the whole TGM gang on this site. I just shot my second 73 (PR) of the week today. I had 5 birds on a course (~6750 yards 70.8/112 men's) with 5 par 4s over 425 yards and 3 par 3s over 200 yards (this is way long by women's standards). I hit 12 greens in regulation. On 11 of the greens I had birdie putts of 20 feet or less. Let me tell ya I owe it all to what I learned at the SoCal school last October and the months since on this site. I have added a club in distance (5I is now ~170) and my driving is just insane (11/14 fairways today and long for me).
No holies or polies, but today's round was something special. Unfortunately, I couldn't quite get it to the house under par. I was -2 standing on the 17th tee and went bogie - double to finish (I got a little tired - it was 100 degrees in the shade:thumbdown ). However, I am striking the ball so pure now that I have confidence that even par or under is within striking distance every round. Once again, thank you all for the precision and a little magic.:notworthy :salut: |

BTW, that pink ball that Paula C. sometimes uses is awesome. Really good distance and plenty of spin. Easy to see under good lighting as well. |

you deserve it!

There are no miracles, but geometry and physics (as you well know) won't fail you. I feel like a PROUD papa! OK... older brother. :-D |
me too....
Steph,
I hope I'm not backwashing in your Cheerios or threadjacking by posting a similar experience. But, I have to give a big shout out to the Green Guy, myself. As you know, my son just turned 1! So, getting out has been a little infrequent and practice has fallen to a lesser priority. My son is a much bigger priority. I got an opportunity today that doesn't happen very often. I got to play two days in a row. \\:D/ \\:D/ Still there's no practicing, but I have the geometry that Yoda gave me (priceless). I finished a pro-am yesterday at 72, solo 4th in the pros. One ball OB, too far through the fairway. :monky: Today, I played a practice round for the GA Open. It's being played at a great course, 74.?/142, 7000+ yards. I was playing with three other local pros. Because we were gambling, I pulled a little risk/reward toward the end of the round and got the risk. Made a double on the 16th. One birdie and one bogey on the back, too. But the fun was the fireworks on the front. All I could see was $$$$$ signs (skins, team, individual). I birdied 5 out of the first 7!!! Shot a smooth 32 on the side with one bogey. So, then you start getting the complaints, "so, you're teaching everyday, huh?" "Looks like you're playing everyday to me!" I didn't care about the complaints. I just held out my hand and collected. What do you call 5 birdies in seven holes? Is that a gaggle, a covey, a flock, or a mass migration? |
