retirement

just letting everyone know what is going on

i am retired until 2013 champions tour.i am teaching and spending time with the family.now i know what i have missed for the last 25 yrs. quit smoking and have gained 30 pounds in 4 months.just started hitting the gym and maybe in a month i will start practicing a little.
i hope everyone has a great 2012.best of luck building your machine,it will last a lifetime or take a lifetime to complete the mastery.just remember geometry always tells the truth and physics is your friend.one thing is for sure you will never read that in golf magazine or hear it on the golf channel.

best of luck

Best of luck with the Champions Tour John. Go get em.

JerryG 01-30-2012 01:48 AM

Congratulations Mr. Riegger. I wish you the best with your new quest (ooh, ICT, I'm a poet all of a sudden).
G.O.L.F. is only to be found here. I don't know what's going on with those other places.

+1 on making some youtube type videos if you get bored. I drove to Knoxville last summer to see a friend in the Nationwide and just happened to catch you hitting balls. Wanted to see your action from the things I have read on this site (sorry for standing right behind you on the range). You were striping it of course. Also, from where I sitting, there seems to be some depression setting in around here with rumors, etc. Im sure your imput would pick things up.

Did you notice a different sound at impact from the other players? That's what I notice with the solid TGMers like John, COMPRESSION!

Dont remember anything about the sound other than was flush. What made an impression was the ball flight. Seemed higher and more penetrating with less effort compared to others. More freewheeling looking in motion but very centered as well. Very nice.

Sweet. I would be at the front of the line to buy some video with John and Lynn if they decide to go that direction!

It seems retirement onto the Champions Tour is agreeing with Mr. Riegger. Nice showing at the Senior Open. T14 in 3M that included a 1st round 66 despite a double bogey thrown in. No rocking chair, geritol or medicare needed.

John Riegger: "Hello Senior World."

Right you are, IH82BOGEY. And the past is only prologue.

The Champions Tour makes room for only a very few.

Fewer still for those without Major Championship records.

All others must compete for the coveted FIVE Fully-Exempt spots. And also the less-than-sainted 25 others who are allowed to Monday qualify.

John Riegger is one of those "fewer still." But . . . by virtue of his birdie on the third hole of the Q-School sudden-death playoff, John earned fully-exempt status for 2013. Too bad his season started late: he turned fifty in June.

No matter. He's swinging good—he's longer and straighter than he was on TOUR for 20 years—and he's putting well. (I know the "longer and straighter" is hard to believe, but it's true.)

Trust me . . .

He will own them.
