Stick Stuff
Wow!
Great stuff, Rob. This is work unprecedented in the history of The Golfing Machine. Hagen taught Hogan to test his understanding of the Golf Stroke by drawing stickmen. Front View and Down the Line, Rob has tested his understanding -- Hitting and Swinging -- and has earned Three Thumbs Up! Learn from him, and then take the test: Stickmen, anyone? |
Stickmen
Hitting and swinging stickmen are fantastic!!!
It appears that each slide in the hitter series corresponds to the same numbered slide in the swinger series. Is that true? If it is true it will allow a direct comparison, that a teaching tool! You hit a long straight drive ending with a hole in one with the stickmen. |

Okay, howmany times did you get crossed eyed doing this? :P |
Quick Shift
It seems like the -no shifting-hitting stickman actually makes his first move raising up his hands onto the turned shoulder plane and then keeps the sweet spot on plane for the rest of the swing--is that our goal ??

Dear Rob, It appears as though the stick man is using Angled Hinging which is perfect for Hitting. Is the clubface on the Plane at the Top in slide #6 allowing the stick man to use paddle-wheel motion all the way down to follow through? |
Paddlewheel
John,
You would be correct. Originally I drew that frame with a clubface that looked more clubface to the sky. Yoda corrected me with 10-18-C #2. Hunter |
Hunter....the stickman are awesome..you did a great job and the points of emphsasi are clear to those of us who know the difference between the differences and the sameness of the samenesses...
Outstanding my friend... |
Thanks

Start Up
If Start Up for this hitting stickman with zero shift was from the Standard Address position instead of Impact would the model be 10-6-B #1 and 10-13-D#1?

I would like to see these stickman photo's but everytime I click on one it gives me an "oops, this link is broken" message. Is there another way to view them?
thanks, Jim |
I have no idea how to upload to this site but I created a slideshow PDF of the Hitting Stickman and can be found here:
https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=...YTdiMzdm&hl=en ha...funny, should have looked in the swinging stickman thread first, I just wanted something I could flip through easier than all these images, those animated stickman are great! |
I'm not advanced, so I'll just ask: Which ones are hitters and swingers?
|
On Slide 5, the clubface is still facing the ball (close position), but in slide 6 it is parallel with the plane line. How can this be done, by rotating the forearm or fanning?
|
It just keeps opening at the same rate. Hint: think "simultaneous".

No Stickman Images
I guess that I'm 7yrs. too late... but I can't pull up any of the StickMan images. All I get is *404 File Not Found*. Am I the only one? Is it a problem on my end, or are the images no longer available?

The 404 is fixed.
