Great 4th Round

Best round of the day. That could be a top 10 finish.

The way these guys are finishing it could be top 5 easy.

Saw that at his turn and was hoping he could keep those birdies dropping.

A really nice move up the leaderboard today.

Brian again shows he is capable of lapping the field when healthy!

Brian could win next week at Colonial. That course sets up well for him.

Brian and Blake Adams tie for second. Riegger wins on the Nationwide. Great week.

I missed the final round on TV but noticed the names going across the bottom of the screen. I thought I saw Brian Gay T-2. I remembered he was pretty far back and thought that had to be wrong---so I ran the DVR back a little and lo and behold there he was T-2! Amazing final round.

LBG dollars are showing a nice conversion rate to Uncle Sam's these days. Gotta phone my broker.

Tour Titans

BG texted that he "finally made some putts". I'll say!

And Blake Adams, who finished T-2 with Brian, plays out of Cuscowilla. http://www.pgatour.com/2010/tourname...ams/index.html

Finally, Jay Williamson shot 276 (-4) to finish T-16.

On the Nationwide Tour, our own John Riegger won the rain-shortened Rex Hospital Open in Raleigh, NC, shooting 66-64-63 and setting a new 54-hole record by four shots. http://www.pgatour.com/2010/tourname...tal/index.html

Pretty good week for the LBG crowd!

Word in the equipment room is that Brian dropped the TM's and went back to his Mizunos. It looks like that's a good decision.

BG dropped the Mizuno bag and hat, but not his irons. Never used TM irons. Just the driver and hybrid.

Brian Gay Putts His Way To A Runner Up Finish At The HP Byron Nelson Championship
Tinley Park, IL, May 24, 2010 - Brian Gay, posting a low score of the day 63 with only 23 putts, vaulted himself to a runner up finish at the HP Byron Nelson Championship Sunday.

Playing with a Bettinardi BB8 putter, the same putter that has been in his bag for his last three victories since 2008, Gay carded a 72-68-69-63 - 272 tying Blake Adams and Jeff Overton for the second place spot.

"My putting was absolutely the key to Sunday's round," said Gay. "I feel like I am starting to get that same feeling like I had last year with my two victories."

Gay finished the 2009 season ranked #4 in 2009 PGA Tour Putts Per Round with an average of 28.11 and recently posted his best position on the year-end 2009 money list (13th). Finishing among the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings, has earned him entry to all four majors in 2010 - the Masters, The U.S. Open, The Open Championship and the PGA Championship based on his 2009 performance.

Brian could putt with a tire iron and beat everyone that I know.

I also have a custom Bettinardi and wouldn't trade it for anything.

Colonial, as did Harbour Town, has long awaited a masterful Brian Gay performance. If he's peaking, it could happen.
