goin' low
I was just talking to Lynn. So, Brian's last two rounds on Tour are 64 (low final round at Colonial) and 64 (low first round at St. Jude).
Three more scores like that, and he's a guarantee to get into the U.S. Open. |
Miracle Man
Two-time calendar year PGA TOUR event winners gain the final exemptions to next week's U.S. Open. Brian, winner at the Verizon Heritage, is off to a great start here with his 64 (-6) and a one-shot lead. For the round, he was T-4 in GIR; T-5 in Putts per GIR; and had a 100 percent Scrambling Percentage. If you hit more greens than most; hole more putts than most when you hit those greens; and get it up and down 100 percent of the time when you do miss the greens . . . you usually wind up pretty high on the leaderboard!
:) I'm booked at Cuscowilla through Saturday, but will be with Brian in Memphis if he's in the hunt Sunday. And if the Memphis Miracle occurs, I'll be at Bethpage next week. Keep your fingers crossed everybody! http://www.pgatour.com/ :golf: |
WOW!!! This outta be fun to watch! Go get 'em boys!

Go Brian!
Great start today! Go Brian!
|
Looks like he is on track to another one, I caught the last bit of coverage yesterday and he was looking great!
Also, interesting to note that Kelley Tilghman spent some time with Brian's wife on a flight recently, perhaps an interview with Lynn will come soon on TGC :) go get 'em Brian! |
Go Brian!! Another good round today!

Exciting start, well played Brian!
I noticed a small feature on putting by Brian in UK "Golf World" magazine this month! Fame is spreading...is he going to come to UK for the Open?:salut: |

How good IS this dude???

It's the third time Gay has led after 36 holes but the 130 total is the best of his career. He needed only 23 putts and has a tournament-best 14 birdies after picking up in the morning where he left off the first round on Thursday. He won at Hilton Head in April by 10 strokes and said he likes to be in the lead. "I did pretty good being ahead last time, so I was telling myself on the back nine out there to, I was really trying to push and try to make as many birdies as I could but ... probably pulled the wrong club on a couple of holes coming in," Gay said." http://www.pgatour.com/2009/tourname...nd2/index.html |

FYI: I was listening to a recap on the radio at work yesterday and they referred to BG as a "machine". Thought you might appreciate that!
Good luck on the weekend Brian (and Yoda)! |
What They Said
Quote:
Q. Brian, again, who was really helpful maybe in your career as you were kind of going through and trying to make your way on the Tour, anyone really instrumental? BRIAN GAY: Well, I've had a lot of people help me through the years. Lots of different instructors. I think the biggest turn was three years ago when I made a change and some stuff in my golf swing. And since then I've stuck to the same stuff and I've just played better, more consistent, just kept building on that. Q. Who was -- BRIAN GAY: Lynn Blake. |
nice to hear Bobby C mention Brian rebuilding his swing via TGM!!
at least Bobby still knows it is the truth |

4 shots ahead!
WOW!...just keeps getting better!
They keep talking about his putting on Setanta commentary (UK satellite)...clearly that is excellent...but he is not rolling in a load of 50 footers...they are 10-20 footers set up by some clean iron play with great distance control and straight driving...just hit a beautiful gentle cut off the 13th tee now...right forearm always on plane...great student - even better performer now he seems to believe! |
WOW ! Kostis just used the centred head tripod on a swingvision Robert Allenby swing...very steady and centred head!!! And he hits it a long way...Kostis must have dug out his TGM!

Wish they did one of Brian though. Alex |
"he's like a machine off the tee..." some commentary guy after BG splits fairway on 16th
:golf: :salut: |
Kostis .....I mean really if he even knew half of what people here at this site have forgotten how smart would he REALLY be?
plus he takes shots and slides in comments against BG and anyone he does not want to win |
C'mon Brian. !8 holes to Bethpage Black. I'm sure Lynn would love to go up there.
|
He looks very solid. I personally think he will win by a comfortable margin. Go Brian!

Point of Clarification

Q: When was the last time you saw anything like this on CBS? A: Never. Q: When was the last time you saw this in TGM? A: Never. Q: When was the first time (and the last time) you saw this anywhere? A: On LynnBlakeGolf.com. :) |

please explain Yoda... I give you MUCH respect....... I consider you TGM.......I do not want to misunderstand so correct me if I am wrong |
Surprise Surprise

The TV camera showed us his lie, and I could see the height of the lip and the distance to the short-sided pin. "Watch closely." I said. "This will be an Acquired Motion Stroke [half swing] with very little wristcock. He will finish at Follow-Through (both arms straight) with the Clubhead remaining beneath his hands. The ball will finish close." And so it happened. It was the same shot I had taught my student earlier in the day. Said Mr. Kostis from the tower: "I would have expected more motion there." :sleepy: |

But, TGM is the property of another, one who knows the tremendous contribution we have made to the recognition of his brand, but who has yet to acknowledge it. Meanwhile, CBS also builds his brand off the sucess of Brian Gay, all while utilizing my copyrighted triangle graphic (without credit) before millions. Guess we're makin' progress! :laughing9 :3gears: |
Quote:
If I was in your position, normally I wouldn't mind but aping your stuff is one thing, aping it and then knocking it is another. I guess part of me would be afraid to come off as a bit of a loon for CBS' copyright infringement, but something tells me that if the roles were reversed they would let it be known that you cannot do that. 3JACK |

So Kostis has been checking out the website...maybe he is a junior member of LBG:) Is Yoda heading down to Memphis for Sunday's Round of the St. Jude? |
Love Triangle
Quote:
Kostis didn't knock the "triangle". In fact, he used it to illustrate the (geometric) relationship between the head and the feet and how stationary Allenby's head remained throughout the stroke. I'm just tickled to get the truth out. :salut: |

The best I can do now is to catch him at the turn -- and that assumes no flight delays -- so it just may not be in the cards this time 'round. Rats. |
