|
Tryin to look like Hogan....."Position Golf"....
Pretty Good.....I might say... Wonder what he would do if he tried to imitate the swing of Tiger Woods? Get it? Got it? Good!!! |
Woods vs Hogan Career Stats
Hogan vs. Woods
In 3 years it will be a clean sweep on all these stats.:) Not bad for 10 years of work. |

Tiger'sFollow Thru
He is trying to make sure that his right wrist uncocks thru impact and maintain it in follow thru and finish.
Hank Haney told us that at the Australian Teaching Summit. This is how Hank teaches hinge action or as he calls it release. |

Too bad golf doesn't have a common language... |
Shanks
If all the gurus keep coming up with this stuff e.g right wrist uncocking and congruent shaft angles, the golfers will have to go somewhere to have the shanks fixed and therefore might be exposed to the common language.

Start with Pics from the Hogan Mystique? Then some footage? The read some of the nice posts made by other posters... Do you think the wrsits need stay "uncocked" for that long..creating a follow-through arc that is that long.... Does the Finish swivel need to occur that late? Does the re-cocking of the wrists need to be delayed that long? Does the refolding of the elbows need to be articically created? Does all the above really matter? you've already hit the ball!!! Or does it affect other variables that occured in the impact to follow-through interval? Gee ...if I have a high finish does the ball behave the same if I have a low left finish? No...why is that?..i've already hit the ball..But for some unknown reason is does affect ball flight...Doesn't it!!!!! Sorry..for the bad attitude some people ... Get it... some people .. Got it..... for some people... That's Good... For those that don't ... get it.... Keep searchin... For those that don't.. Got it.... Here's praying that you will... For those who get it, got it...well that's GOOD!!! Cheers!!! |
Uncocking the Right Wrist to much....shifts the base line rightward and can cause shanking, blocks and hooks.....Sound Familiar?:naughty:

Tiger is trying to not swivel and is also trying to swing down the target line more instead of swinging more left.
That is why he looks the way he does. |

Annikan may be an acquired taste on this forum, but you will be VERY hard pressed to find two people on any forum that knows more about the golf swing then AS. Skywalker doesn’t spoon feed you information but allows one to think about the answer and the question. And he has fun- I mean how many times can someone answer the same questions with the same answer. Enjoy what he presents- you may like what YOU discover. peace btw- I wish everyone could have seen or heard AS's presentation of how the spine works in a golf swing. Those who did understand the relationship between the back swing, axis tilt and why the stationary head exists. (because the spine is not a constant set tilted angle but adjusts itself throughout the stroke-oops) AS Rocks! |

AND he KNOWS why the follow through is the way it is. It is a walk on the DARKSIDE. Jerry . . . Never NEVER EVER NEVER EVER underestimate Annikan. Sometimes you don't get the answers in a way that is easy. |

TGM defines three possible wrist states: uncocked, level and cocked. The right wrist should ideally remain level - this can be defined as a straight line from the second knuckle on your thumb (counting from thumb tip) to the wrist bone and feels slightly uncocked as compared to how most hands naturally sit. (As an aside, I actually prefer the alternative definition which I think I saw Mike O offer somewhere for a level (right) wrist - which is where the #3 pressure point is in line with the middle of the forearm). Anyway, if your wrist is cocked it can uncock to level and then further uncock to uncocked. If it is level, it could still theoretically uncock to uncocked, even if the semantics sound kind of funny. But forget that, because you don't actually want to uncock your level right wrist, you just could if you wanted to!!!!!! |

And also only really started playing good in his 30s....and also almost lost his legs.....and would lose to Tiger in a putting contest....(although it IS part of the game...I'm not gonna try to put that out there as a real bigtime excuse)... Truly can't take anything away from Tiger though. Just not Hogan either. |

Ben Hogan, born in 1912, played in 292 PGA tour events from 1932 to at least 1967 (his last major the US Open T34th). He turned pro in 1929 at age 17. His 1st PGA event was in 1932 at age 20 and his 1st win was in 1940 at age 28. He did not play for 2 years because of WWII from '43-'45. From '45 to '49 he won 37 times. In '49 he was in a car crash. From 1950 to the end of his career he played about 7 events per year. His last win was in 1959 at age 47. (The Colonial) Tiger Woods to date has played in 210 PGA events. |

they showed some stats on the golf channel and basically hogan and tiger where the only players to ever be in the 20 percent lifetime winning percentage. lets see if at the end of tigers career he is still in it pretty tough tiger was slightly ahead in that position. as of now

Thanks for the correction.. Us ol guys don't play those games that often.. Usually shoot lower on the course than on the screen.... "uncoordinated thumbs" |
uneducated thumbs?
I recommend the aquired motion curriculum. Start with pac-man, move on to mario brothers, and then you might be ready for some EA Sports :) |

hint: third level- vertical hinge out of the pot bunker and then crank out a quick horizontal hinge as you reach the top to kill the kuykenBreast before advancing to the next hole. If not his throw-away will nip ya. Don't forget to add as much strenght and wisdom when you re-visit the swamp with Yoda and don't trust anyone on the path before reaching Yoda and Luke. Lots of old YellowBookers will try to lure away from the path and the swamp is tough to navigate alone. The final level "The March into Augusta" is worth it. (Is it time to wake up?) |
