The search is on - Best Yoda Quote :)
I thought this would make a wonderful thread....
Search the archives, find the most fog busting Yoda quote there is :) |
Heres one of my favourites
"The Golf stroke is all about inscribing near-perfect circles with the orbiting Clubhead on the face of an inclined Plane -- while simultaneously Sustaing Lag Pressure on the Clubshaft and controlling the Clubface through impact." - Yoda |
I like:
"I don't slip because I don't go to slippery places." |
Yes that's a great one Matt!
So much wrapped up in that one quote... I liked how he said "The ball didn't go into the water because it was mad at you, it went in because it had to!" I also liked his intro. in the "Rob Noel's Master Class" video here: http://www.lynnblakegolf.com/Gallery.htm When he talks about the wax on the statues...did such a good job with that one. |
OBLITERATE IT.
|
"- Let us see a little angled hinge action"
Yoda said this while carefully aiding a girl of age (some) 3 months old finding her way through the motion. She enjoyed it. So did her mother. It happend in a texmex joint in Destin, FL. |
"Where are you at Fix?
Where are you at Impact? There should be no difference. If there is, reconcile it. Or live with Compensation." |

I am going to the hardware store this weekend Dowel hunting!!!!

about compression
'You hear that?... Now isn't that just the most wonderful sound'
|
paraphrasing perhaps a touch...
"learn to clap your hands, that's it, that's all there is" 8) |
During my lesson in March Yoda asked me to make some type of change and I said, " OK, I'll try that."
Yoda's response----"There is no try, do it!" Dr. Dave |
Quotes
“What I wouldn’t give to have known then what I know now.”
“Impact is a place for science, not “seems as ifs”” “But the learning is never ending. The amount of time and dedication a golfer puts in determines how far he or she can go. “NOW THAT’S A FACT”” “Well, all rightee then!” |
Referring to the plane and right forearm take away, "not kind of like but precisely along the plane line" and "the club only weighs a pound and a half so why not just pick it up with the right arm?".
On Swinging vs. hitting, "Does the club head whirl around or is it driven out?" "This statue has no wax" (hinge action, with angular motion, on an inclined plane) "This is the Golfing Machine". |
Quote:
The right wedge - hitting The left wedge - swinging right hand only, left hand only, both hands The 'lake' is on an incline. Your 'view' of it matters. 'nail it' with the head of the hammer. Skip that cracking whip on the surface of that lake and decide which side of the coin you want. Know where that 'orbit' is. The edge of that rock. The imperatives, and essentials. Lynn knows G.O.L.F. and he knows how to communicate it with a passion and clarity that few may ever posses. |
from the yodahinge.wmv vid...
".. and because we've got control of our left wrist we've got control of the clubface... because we've got control of the clubface we've got control of our ball.. because we've got control of our ball we've got control of our game."

"Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering."

The Hitter's Load is against both Pressure Points #1 (the heel of the Right Hand against the Left Hand thumb) and #3 (the meaty part of the Right Forefinger). In most instances, the pressure is equally divided between the two, with #1 driving the Left Arm and #3 driving the Clubshaft. After the Pivot -- specifically the slow-moving Right Shoulder -- has done its work, the Right Elbow (actuated by the Right Triceps) drives both #1 and #3. Hence my Hitter's Dictum:
"Hit the Ball with 'One and Three.'" _________________ Yoda |

You must forget about the Clubshaft Plane. If for no other reason, the Clubshaft simply cannot stay on it.
As the Sweetspot moves Up, Back and In On Plane, the Shaft rotates off its own Plane and onto the Sweetspot's Plane. For Swingers, that Rotation is accomplished during the Start Up Swivel. The Clubshaft then remains on the Sweetspot Plane during the remainder of the Backstroke and also into the Downstroke until the Release Swivel once again rotates the Shaft around the Sweetspot and back onto its own Plane. |
before and after
My first meeting with Yoda looking at my stroke:
"Ted, what are you doing?" :naughty: :crybaby:  Six months later: "Ted, what have you done?!?!"   Not only had I transformed my game, but more importantly, I had pleased the Master. |

"Did you HEAR that?? That is the sound of three dimensional compression my friend!" :laughing9
