Ginn sur Mer Classic / PGA TOUR / Palm Coast, FL / October 30 - November 2, 2008
Brian Gay has just birdied the 72nd hole at The Conservatory in Palm Coast, Florida, to move into a tie for 8th, one shot back of a 7-way tie for the lead. Thus far, his brilliant, closing 69 has been bettered today by only one player (and then by only one shot).
The leaders are still out, but with a purse at $4.6 million, this is an extremely important finish for Brian. He has now muscled his way into the TOUR's Top 30 Money Winners, and therein lies exemptions into the 2009 Masters and U.S. Open. As I write, play has been suspended once again due to rain. Five golfers remain on the course, and I will update this post with final results and money as events unfold.
One more event to go . .
Next week's Children's Miracle Network Classic presented by Wal-Mart at Lake Buena Vista, Florida, just minutes away from Brian's home.
With four players still out, Brian at -5 is T-6. Three now are in at -6 -- 1-shot clear of Brian -- so, no playoff awaits Our Hero. But, ne'ertheless, the payday and its catapault into the Top 30 is huge.

great work and thanks for keeping us posted. Can I ask, is Brian a hitter or swinger?
Well, johnnyg, let's just say that Brian has very little Accumulator Lag and senses a very strong Right Forearm and #3 Pressure Point Thrust though Impact. Whatever that is, it is.
