iGolf neo GPS review
By now you've all seen the various GPS and range finder offerings. A couple months ago I came across the iGolf neo gps unit online and had some gift card money that I needed to use on something golf related, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I was skeptical about it, so I thought I'd share my review in case others are looking at it as well. Despite being inexpensive and relatively simple, this unit has been surprisingly good - the yardages seem to be reliable, it's durable, and it fits in your pocket. You have to subscribe to access the large library of downloadable courses, but once you've downloaded them you don't have to maintain your subscription to keep them.

It doesn't have all the bells and whistles of some of the other gps units, but it gives you the essentials: front/back/middle + several other points of interest on the hole. You can map your course and add custom points to each hole; I've even mapped the flags on my driving range, giving me exact yardages from wherever I am on the range. It saves me at least a couple strokes a round and a lot of time. I've also found walking to be quite enjoyable with this, as there is no more searching for sprinkler heads. One other nice thing about this unit is that you don't have to subscribe to the online service for more than a year (assuming you download all the courses you want), as the course mappings are downloaded and saved to your computer. They had every course I play regularly and were only missing one course that I play occasionally, which I have requested to be mapped.

All-in-all it's a good, low-cost alternative to the industry standard brands/models.
