re path to top
Yodasluke, thanks for help re index finger, slowly understanding it.
Another Q,if I may.
Ive been inconsistant lately(due to changes)but today,I worked on takeaway and hit the ball a lot better,I pretty much took club back from impact position to top using my R/forearm takeaway, the club felt closed, but hit pretty straight. Is this the right position at top,Thanks in advance

not Ted but ....
here's what works very well for me:

-hold the club in the right hand
-place the club in its impact position, right forearm on plane, face square to planeline.
-waggle over the ball (hitters waggle)
-take the ball back, right forearm takeaway, feel the pressure on the two middle fingers on the right hand.
-take it back as far as required, max. to the top (shoulder high)
(at the top the clubface feels closed and the shaft might feel as if it's pointing straight up - compared to your old swing)
-reverse the motion on the downswing, feel the pressure on the indexfinger (pp #3), hit the ball with this pressure

make sure you have extensor action from start to follow through....

Backstroke length
Thanks Ted and Yoda,I,m getting there,I,m not going much further than shoulder height on backswing and I,m hitting long again.
Got a better understanding of my PLANE,I have to rein my B/swing and not try to overdo backswing. Is there a checkrein for B/stroke

Still trying to translate book, and relate to my swing,Came across hitters stickman,THAT made me understand Sooo much more in relation to c/face position on the plane,I still would like to know if there is preffered TOP of backstroke position (how far does b/swing extend)Thanks in advance

IMHO, FWIW, and all disclaimers regarding an unqualified opinion, there is no top "position".
It's wherever the backstroke ends, any length shot.
In my experience, for a full stroke, it's wherever left wrist cocking is complete in a right forearm takeaway, roughly shoulder high.

"This (TOP) section starts when the Backstroke motion of the Hands ends, and continues through a static period of alignment and relationship corrections, until a deliberate aiming of the Lag Pressure Point." (8-6)
