My Two Cents or Less
Well, I have read both and think I understood all of Swing like a Pro and most of TGM (not all by a long shot). I know what you are refering to by transition which is touted by Swing Like a Pro and wants a golfer to keep the shoulders turning back while the lower body begins to unwind back toward the target (to get extra wind and torque). I tried to do it and I found it very hard to do consistently and get my timing right. I found I got no real benefit to it either since my swing speed of 110 mphs on my speed stik didn't alter one way or the other.

I will tell you that I have found I hit everything a lot farther using TGM technique of lag and sustaining the lag which I think is easier to perform. I believe the folks that have the "transition move" shown in Swing Like a Pro may be an artifact of a professional golfer that has many hours of practice under their belt.

Long story short, I could not do the transition as they described but I'm not saying it is bad or anything. I think the key for me has been in learning what lag feels like in pp #3 and focus on keeping it there until impact. I would love to be able to move my hips one way and my shoulders the other but I'm not that coordinated or flexible.

As a note, my brother in law does this move naturally but I hit further than him since learning to sustain the lag. He plays well but doesn't have a sense of his hands or pressure in his hands which I think is needed to play well. Just my opinion.

Can't wait to hear what the experts say.
