"Sustain (Yang/陽) the lag (Yin/陰)" is "the unification of Ying and Yang" (陰陽合一).
The "LAW" creates the "effect", which is the "motion" or "feel", with the "cause", which is the "intent" or "command".
"Lag" is the secret of golf, passion is the secret of life.
Think as a golfer, execute like a robot.
Rotate, twist, spin, turn. Bend the shaft.
well I hear Hank Haney is going to have a go at fixing it. The word is there will be a reality program featuring Barkley and Haney on the Golf Channel soon.

Someone already fixed that horrible swing, John Dunigan:
. Barkley didn't work at the fix long enough to make it permanent for whatever reason.

"In my experience, if you stay with the essentials you WILL build a repeatable swing undoubtedly. If you can master the Imperatives you have a champion" (Vikram).
The reason you can't sustain the lag is because you are so eager to make the club move fast (a reaction to the intent of "hitting it far"). So on a full shot you throw it away too early, which doesn't happen for your short chip. (bts)
His mind must not be IN HIS HANDS. Someone should try training him starting with chips, then pitches, then longer pitches(punches), then finally full motion strokes... with his attention on the Delivery Path of the Hands while monitoring his clubhead lag pressure point #3. If he does enough repetitions while striking the ball with the proper motion, a new habit should form, and with time... over-ride his old habit.

Dunnigan, as mrodock said, has already "fixed" Charles the Great and it was, by all accounts, relatively simple. Basic, acquire and finally full motion procedures were applied.
Like most of us though, Charles left the lesson tee and found it easier to reverted to type.
