As you can all see, we have done a major facelift to the Lynn Blake Golf website and forum. Hopefully you will find this to be an improvement in all areas. We wanted to give the overall website a more consistent look and feel. Lynn is also introducing his new logo - which you see on top of every page. The forum software has been upgraded and has many more capabilities than the old one.
The page one articles, e.g., Yoda's Corner and Ted Fort's new column, have not yet been written, but we didn't want to delay the opening of the new site. So, we just put up something temporarily to fill the space.
Take some time and look around...there are many user-configurable settings for the forum. We have also introduced a calendar as part of the forum which will display events of interest to LBG.
Tip: You can customized the Forum time zone by going to the Forum/User CP, then look on the left for Edit Options. Lots of stuff you can configure to your personal liking, so take a look around.
We hope you like the new site, and as always please feel free to make any suggestions or comments. We'd love to hear from you.
We have to relearn a few things about posting but it doesn't take long. On the far right side of a post you will see an Icon for quick reply. When you click on it you will then be able to go to the reply screen below the post. If you want to add smilies or extra formatting to your message, click the Advanced Editing button.
You will be presented with a much more robust editor.
Keep those comments comin', guys. If you've got constructive suggestions, we want to hear them. And if you want to say something nice, well...that's okay, too!
Said another way, this new site is in no way the 'end'. To the contrary -- quoting Churchill -- it is not even "the end of the beginning."
I'd suggest seeing "this month's column"- look more like a magazine article layout- in format. It would distinguish it more from just another thread on the forum - giving the site more variety- and more stature to those columns and authors. But of course, I would like to see it retain the forum aspect of asking questions and receiving answers from the author- which is a real bonus- just in a different layout- to separate it and highlight from the forum threads. After all, all it would take would be more money and more time- which everyone has an abundance of
